Wellness-based, peer-led support for young women (ages 16–24) and women.

Community of Grace Organization (COGO) is a peer-led nonprofit based in Frederick, Maryland. We support women, young women (ages 16–24), mothers, and families as they build stability, connection, and hope—especially when support has been limited.

Right now, we provide peer-led, non-clinical wellness support through groups and wellness education grounded in the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, along with resource referrals and connections to trusted community and government agencies. Our focus is practical support that strengthens coping skills, confidence, community connection, and day-to-day stability.

Next milestone: Transitional living for women and children—currently in planning and fundraising—a safe, nurturing home designed to support new beginnings and help reduce generational trauma, so families don’t just survive, they rebuild and thrive.

What We Offer

Community of Grace Organization (COGO) delivers peer-led, wellness-based programming and serves as a trusted connector to Frederick County resources—so women and young women can access the right support and move forward with stability, healing, and opportunity.

We help participants identify their needs, connect to the right agency or provider, and reduce barriers to accessing services—so support is not just available, it’s reachable.

Wellness Support Groups (online and community-based)

All services are grounded in the Eight Dimensions of Wellness: Emotional, Physical, Social, Spiritual, Intellectual, Occupational, Environmental, and Financial.

Sisterhood Rising Circle (online women’s support, connection, and encouragement)

A supportive circle for women to talk about real life needs—healing, goals, parenting, stress, and next steps—without judgment.

Young Women’s Wellness Program (online ages 16–24)

A supportive space to build life skills, confidence, and wellness habits.

Mindfulness + Sound Bowl Healing (woven into our gatherings)

Community Events & Exhibits (including PhotoVoice)

COGO hosts peer-led, culturally centered healing circles, remembrance gatherings, and creative wellness events. These welcoming spaces invite women, youth, and families to connect and express themselves through art, movement, storytelling, and community care. Our events are trauma-informed, wellness-centered, and harm-reduction aligned.

Grief Peer Support (open to all types of grief)

A welcoming peer-led space for anyone grieving—gun violence, addiction, illness, family separation, incarceration, or other losses.

Resource Navigation + Warm Referrals (Frederick County)

We connect participants to the appropriate departments, providers, and community agencies across Frederick County for supports such as housing navigation, education and training, employment and workforce services, health and behavioral health supports, family resources, and basic needs.

Workforce + Life Readiness

We provide practical support that strengthens routines, goal-setting, confidence, communication, and job readiness—so participants can pursue education, training, and employment with a clear plan.
